EVE Energy, GWT Partner to Revolutionize Marine Electrification

In a bold move to accelerate the future of marine electrification, EVE Energy and Green Whale Technology (GWT) have inked a strategic partnership to deliver high-performance marine Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) and services to customers worldwide. This collaboration brings together EVE Energy’s cutting-edge lithium marine battery system technology with GWT’s expertise in marine engineering, lifecycle service, and commissioning.

The partnership is set to disrupt the high C-rate maritime battery market, long dominated by NMC cell-based systems. EVE Energy stands out as the only global supplier offering 3C continuous LFP marine batteries, boasting a longer lifetime than NMC-based systems in many application scenarios. Thanks to EVE’s active balancing technology, these systems deliver an impressive lifetime of up to 15 years, surpassing any LFP systems currently on the market and significantly reducing the total cost of ownership.

The alliance’s production capability, advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry technology, maritime experience, cost advantages, data safety, and global service capacity position this solution as a potential game-changer in the industry. To support customers globally and maintain high standards, Green Whale Technology is establishing an NL-based cloud service platform. This platform ensures local data compliance, digital security, and mitigates geopolitical risks. Additionally, spare parts storage in Norway and the Netherlands will strengthen timely after-sales support, while joint R&D initiatives promise continued innovation.

As one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers, EVE Energy leverages its ESS system factory capacity of over 10 MWh per day to ensure scalability and timely delivery. The 3C marine battery system is priced below USD 300 per kWh, a unique offering in the current market.

This partnership is more than just a collaboration; it’s a leap forward in marine electrification. By combining EVE Energy’s advanced battery technology with GWT’s maritime engineering expertise, the alliance aims to set new standards in performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. The establishment of a cloud service platform and strategic spare parts storage further underscores their commitment to global support and innovation.

Industry experts are watching closely. The move could reshape the maritime battery landscape, challenging the dominance of NMC-based systems and accelerating the adoption of LFP technology. With a focus on reducing total cost of ownership and enhancing performance, this partnership is poised to drive significant advancements in marine electrification.
