Ocean Infinity Completes Armada Fleet: Redefining Offshore Operations

Ocean Infinity has just hit a major milestone with the delivery of the final vessel in its 14-strong Armada fleet. These aren’t your average ships. They’re lean, mean, data-collecting machines, packed with advanced underwater robotic systems. Over the past five years, Ocean Infinity has been quietly building and deploying a fleet of cutting-edge vessels that are redefining what’s possible at sea.

The latest delivery wraps up the 86-meter class of Armada ships, following the successful launch of the 86-meter class in 2023. Twelve vessels are already in live operation, with the remaining two vessels hot on their heels. Each one is a marvel of modern engineering, equipped with a tailored suite of tools for everything from geophysical surveys to geotechnical investigations. These ships are working globally—from the U.S. to Europe and the Asia Pacific—delivering high-quality data and driving innovation in subsea operations.

Oliver Plunkett, CEO of Ocean Infinity, captured the significance of this achievement: “Completing the Armada 86-metre class marks an extraordinary moment – five years ago we said we’d build a fleet of fourteen ships, designed unconventionally because speed to capability mattered – and we’ve done it, despite the many challenges along the way. What started out as a bold ambition is now a reality. These vessels are not a concept or an R&D project – they are operating today, transforming the way offshore work is done by focusing on software and technology first.”

This fleet isn’t just about hardware. It’s about a fundamental shift in how offshore work is conducted. By prioritizing software and technology, Ocean Infinity is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in subsea operations. These vessels are already making waves, quite literally, by delivering data that supports complex offshore projects worldwide.

The completion of the Armada fleet is a testament to Ocean Infinity’s vision and determination. It’s a bold statement about the future of maritime technology—one where robotics, data, and innovation take center stage. As these vessels continue to operate and evolve, they’re set to redefine industry standards, proving that the sea’s potential is only as limited as the technology we bring to it.
