APM 2026: Charting the Future of Maritime Innovation

Asia Pacific Maritime (APM), Asia’s premier maritime exhibition and conference, is gearing up for its largest edition yet. From 25-27 March 2026, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore will host over 700 exhibitors across six halls, all anchored by the theme “Future of Vessels, Solutions for Tomorrow.” This event is set to be a powerhouse of innovation, bringing together global leaders to explore how next-gen energy technologies and innovations are shaping the maritime sector’s future.

The maritime industry is at a crossroads, with decarbonisation targets tightening and digital innovation accelerating. APM 2026 will delve into the critical aspects of this energy transition, including newbuild specifications, fuel strategies, operational optimisation, and the financial and contractual frameworks supporting these shifts. The exhibition will spotlight solutions in alternative fuels, electric and hybrid technologies, wind-assisted propulsion, and other decarbonisation-driven innovations.

Electrification is gaining traction as a key pathway to reducing maritime emissions, with battery systems enabling shipowners to enhance efficiency without compromising reliability. Jan-Erik Räsänen, Chief Technology Officer at Foreship, part of RINA, emphasised the need for flexible and adaptable power plants that can integrate traditional combustion engines with battery systems to improve overall efficiency. “Future-proof design should already be included at the new-build phase,” Räsänen noted.

APM 2026 will feature leading electric and battery technology providers, including AYK Energy, CALB, Eve Energy, MT Power, Roypow, and Shenzhen Racern Technology. To support shipowners and operators, the event introduces the Electric & Hybrid Consultation Lounge, where experts from the Maritime Battery Forum, CharIN, the International Electric Maritime Association (IEMA), and the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) will offer practical guidance on achieving more efficient operations. Discussions will cover high-power charging in e-mobility, maritime battery systems, next-generation electric marine technologies, and zero-emission shipping.

Wind propulsion is also re-emerging as a viable decarbonisation pathway for deep-sea shipping. APM 2026 will showcase cutting-edge wind propulsion equipment from exhibitors like Chantiers de l’Atlantique (CDL), CWS Morel, Dealfeng New Energy Technology, Econowind BV, and Norsepower Oy Ltd. Additionally, the event will highlight advancements in alternative fuels, sustainable engine solutions, and technologies driving operational efficiency from prominent exhibitors such as Advanced Polymer Coatings, DAIHATSU INFINEARTH, International Paint, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine System Asia, Nippon Paint Marine, PPG Coatings, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte Ltd (MTU), Siemens Energy, VINSSEN, Volvo Group, Yanmar Power Solutions, and ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

The three-day conference will focus on translating maritime ambitions into action. Keynote panels and discussions will cover breakthrough technologies and trends set to define the next decade of maritime. The conference will kick off with a keynote panel titled “The Maritime State of Play & What’s Next for Asia,” bringing together industry leaders to discuss decarbonisation, digitalisation, and shifting trade flows. This session aims to address key questions that will shape the industry’s future.

APM 2026 promises to be a pivotal event, driving the maritime sector towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced future. With a sold-out exhibition and a packed conference agenda, it is set to be the largest and most impactful edition yet, solidifying its role as Asia’s premier maritime event.
