Ultralife Dives into Subsea Power Solutions at Oceanology International

Ultralife Corporation, a name synonymous with innovation in battery technology, is diving deep into the underwater realm at Oceanology International London. From March 10-12, the company will be showcasing its latest subsea battery packs at the ExCel Centre, Stand L610. This isn’t just a tech demo—it’s a deep dive into the future of underwater exploration and industrial applications.

Ultralife’s technical team will be on hand to discuss power solutions for oil and gas applications, including Logging While Drilling (LWD), Measurement While Drilling (MWD), and pipeline inspection gauges (PIGs). The SeaSafe Endurance battery module, recently upgraded to offer 12% more capacity, will be a star attraction. Designed to fit snugly inside pressure vessels, this battery system is built for long-duration missions, powering everything from autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to oceanography equipment.

The SeaSafe Endurance won’t be alone. It will also be on display at Prevco Subsea Housings’ stand (D30), near the main entrance. Here, visitors can see the battery module housed within pressure vessels, showcasing its versatility and robustness.

But Ultralife isn’t stopping at pressure vessels. The company will also be showcasing its pressure-tolerant subsea battery modules, which can plunge to depths of 6,000 meters without a pressure vessel. The SeaSafe Direct and SeaSafe II modules are modular building blocks, allowing operators to easily connect them in series or parallel to achieve the desired voltage or capacity. These aren’t just power sources—they’re power solutions, offering four times the runtime of sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries and 100% condition-based and safety monitoring with an integrated battery management system.

Ultralife’s commitment to the oil and gas sector goes beyond batteries. The company offers end-to-end, mission-critical power solutions, combining primary battery cell manufacturing, custom rechargeable and non-rechargeable battery packs, pressure-tolerant subsea systems, downhole (MWD/LWD) and pipeline inspection power, and hazardous-area certification support. From design and manufacture to testing, compliance, application support, and product recycling, Ultralife provides full lifecycle services.

This is more than an exhibition—it’s a testament to Ultralife’s vision for the future of subsea power. As the company’s CEO, Gary Johnson, puts it, “We’re not just powering devices; we’re empowering exploration and industry.” With innovations like the SeaSafe Endurance and SeaSafe Direct, Ultralife is setting a new standard for subsea power solutions, and Oceanology International London is the perfect stage to showcase these advancements.
