APM 2026 Spotlights Maritime Innovation & Decarbonization

The Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) Exhibition and Conference is gearing up for its 19th edition, set to take place from March 25-27, 2026, at the iconic Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Organized by RX, APM 2026 will zero in on “Future of Vessels, Solutions for Tomorrow,” a theme that couldn’t be timelier as the maritime industry grapples with decarbonization targets and the urgent need for energy-efficient solutions. This event is more than just a gathering—it’s a launchpad for innovations that could redefine maritime shipping.

With over 700 exhibitors expected to participate across 18 pavilions, APM 2026 will be a melting pot of ideas and technologies. The focus will be on alternative fuels, electric and hybrid systems, and other cutting-edge technologies that are critical for the energy transition. The event kicks off with a welcome address by Ang Wee Keong, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, setting the stage for what promises to be a dynamic and forward-looking conference.

The conference lineup is equally impressive, featuring nearly 100 global speakers tackling pivotal topics such as Future Fuels and Zero Emission Ships, Electric and Hybrid Power, and Maritime Cybersecurity. Weichai, a prominent industrial player, is returning for the tenth time, bringing its expertise in biodiesel technology and sustainable marine solutions to the forefront. The company’s enthusiasm underscores the event’s significance as a hub for sustainable innovation.

One of the standout highlights of APM 2026 will be the exploration of battery electrification, a critical avenue for immediate emissions reductions. Jan-Erik Räsänen of Foreship will be among the experts advocating for future-proof designs that incorporate flexibility in power plants, allowing for both traditional combustion engines and battery use. This flexibility is crucial as the industry navigates the transition to cleaner energy sources.

Adding to the event’s interactive elements, an Electric & Hybrid Consultation Lounge will facilitate discussions on maritime battery systems, high-power charging, and zero-emission technologies. This lounge will serve as a hub for industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore practical solutions for reducing emissions.

Wind propulsion, once a staple of maritime travel, is making a comeback as a viable energy solution for decarbonizing deep-sea shipping. APM 2026 will present the latest advancements in this area, reflecting the growing interest and investment in wind propulsion systems. The event will also feature a keynote panel titled “The Maritime State of Play & What’s Next for Asia,” tackling pressing questions about technology, fuel innovation, and Asia’s role in shaping future maritime standards.

Joey Chua from the Singapore Shipping Association emphasized the necessity of digital tools for efficiency and sustainable growth in the maritime ecosystem. APM serves as a critical platform for global solution providers to showcase the latest advancements in maritime technology and facilitate strategic collaborations. With 35 years of history, APM strives to shape the future of maritime solutions by fostering discussions among industry stakeholders.

In summary, APM 2026 aims to address the ongoing energy transition in the maritime sector through innovation, collaboration, and a clear focus on sustainability. By bringing together the brightest minds and most innovative technologies, the event reaffirms its position as Asia’s premier maritime event, driving the industry toward a cleaner, more efficient future.
