Zen Technologies has just upped the ante in naval training with India’s first AI-enabled Fast Attack Craft (FAC) Simulator. This isn’t just another simulator—it’s a game-changer for how naval crews prepare for real-world maritime warfare. The system, developed by Zen’s subsidiary Applied Research International (ARI) Simulation, delivers a fully immersive, high-fidelity training environment that replicates everything from ship handling to combat tactics.
The FAC Simulator doesn’t just mimic reality—it enhances it. With 360° visualization, 6-DOF motion platforms, and EO/IR targeting systems, crews experience near-real conditions without ever leaving the dock. But the real standout? The AI-driven Instructor Operator Station (IOS). This isn’t your average training tool. It adapts in real time, adjusting complexity and difficulty based on individual crew performance. Need to sharpen your skills in close-quarter defense? The AI tailors scenarios to your needs, providing actionable insights and performance feedback. It’s like having a virtual coach that knows exactly how to push you to improve.
The simulator also brings realism to weapon systems, simulating Medium Machine Guns and Remote Weapon Stations with recoil and fire-control systems. Crews can train for high-stress tactical scenarios—from multi-angle attacks to counter-asymmetric operations—without the risks and costs of live training.
Zen Technologies Chairman and Managing Director, Ashok Atluri, put it bluntly: “India’s maritime challenges are evolving, and so must our training.” With a coastline stretching over 7,500 kilometers and a vast Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the need for advanced naval preparedness is critical. The FAC Simulator isn’t just about reducing training costs—it’s about boosting combat readiness, team coordination, and tactical decision-making under pressure.
This launch reinforces Zen’s commitment to indigenous, next-generation solutions. By leveraging AI and advanced simulation, they’re not just keeping pace with global maritime training—they’re setting the standard. For naval forces, this means safer, more effective training. For India, it means stronger operational readiness and national security. The FAC Simulator isn’t just a tool—it’s a strategic asset.
